Jewelry Care Guide

Gold-plated over stainless steel / other metal base is the process which a piece of metal is covered with a layer of gold on top. Although they are very durable and resistant, it is normal for the gold plating to wear off over the years due to wear/environment/exposure, revealing the metal underneath. Gold-plated jewelery requires extra care therefore we encourage you to store it separately with other jeweleries to minimize scratches.

All metals will eventually tarnish over time due to oxidisation and natural body oils. To ensure the longevity of your jewelery, we recommend you to follow these simple care instructions:

  • Remove all jewelery before showering, exercising and swimming. Moisture may lead to faster discoloration and oxidation.
  • Avoid contact with perfumes, body/hair products, oils and creams.
  • To clean, use a soft cloth with warm water. Be gentle so you don't rub off the gold plating. Always make sure the jewellery is dry before storing.
  • Advisable to store jewelery separately in a pouch or box out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
Jewelry pieces made of brass, titanium, and cooper, on the other hand, needs a much stronger care and protection as they can tarnish faster if used aggressively.
